ABOUT HONEY BUZZ

Honey Buzz is a website aimed at providing as much information as possible about bees and honey without the aim of selling any product we own or make.

I just thought, that with the world-wide threat against bees and a general lack of understanding how dependent us humans are on bees, I’ll try and make a small contribution to the welfare of bees.

I have a number of topical niche websites and Honey Buzz is only one of the many interests I have.

About Honey Buzz
Don’t count on this image to recognise me in the street! But you may come across me in a camping site somewhere in SA where I’ll be working on one of my websites.

Unfortunately bees have only two value measurements to consumers:

  • The ignorant final consumer who use honey for its sweetness, but want to pay as little as possible and therefore accepts diluted (less natural) honey;
  • The health conscious, nature conscious informed user and producer who do not want honey to be exploited and its benefits diluted, and who must promote honey that costs more.

All honey related websites sell honey or promote a section of the honey industry or individual producers or sellers. There is nothing wrong with that, but we wanted to create an online honey source aimed at promoting bees and honey, regardless who farm them or sell it.

I created the website because I grew up with raw honey, (that was a time before sugar and water found their way into the honey of unscrupulous merchants). I love its sweetness and thoroughly enjoy its flavour, but more so, I wanted to contribute a small part to the fight for the survival of bees.

This is because I realise the crucial role bees play in the survival of all humans. I owe it to myself and those that come after me.

When I was a small child, we lived on a farm in an area that provided an abundance of highveld peach flowers and honey. Those were the times before honey was contaminated with syrup and other things to make it cheaper.

It is interesting that people will tell you that honey is expensive but they pay double the price for medicine for sore throats!

In the promotion of the health of bees and the availability of honey, we work with anyone that shares our values. We may promote people or producers who are involved in the production and sale of honey and we will consider all suggestions, paid and unpaid, if approached.

The site may contain paid advertising to help us fund the website, and any products bought via links from the Honey Buzz website may generate a small commission for us without adding any cost to your purchase.

Content and Images

We go to great lengths to ensure that all information on the site are factually correct and to the benefit of website users.

Content may be AI-generated but are always human edited and fact-checked. However, if you find something that is incorrect, please let us know via our contact form here. It is also the way in which all other approaches should be done.

We aimed at making the subject of honey interesting enough so people will read the articles.

Articles that are boring or not read have little value, but breaking up large blocks of text with colourful images entices the reader to keep on reading.

Our use of exceptionally large AI generated images was done to ensure we have an unexpectedly colourful website to make it pleasurable to read the articles.

Our aim is to illustrate the content of our articles as best as we can, and if AI generated images do that, then we follow what is best for our readers.

We do however use photos when we have any that is better than the AI images in conveying the message of the specific article.

The Busy Bee’s Golden Gift

With fuzzy coat and buzzing wing,
The busy bee, a tireless thing,
From bloom to bloom, a pollen scout,
Sipping nectar, sweet as doubt.

Honey sacs, like pockets full,
Of golden sunshine, gathered cool.
Back to the hive, a fragrant dance,
Wagging tales of floral trance.

Hexagonal cells, a waxy gleam,
Hold nature’s bounty, sunlit dream.
Honeycomb, a masterpiece,
Sweet reward for every bee.

So next you taste that amber flow,
Remember wings that hum and go,
For bees and honey, hand in hand,
Nourish the world, across all lands.
